Lauri Lohi is an autodidact performing artist, actor, dancer and director.
[Their] movement language is strongly inspired by club- and street dance styles such as Waacking, Popping and Breaking as well as mime acting and contemporary dance.
At the core of Lohi’s artistry lies absurd comedy, imaginative creatures, utopian queer communalities and striving towards empathetic, direct and non-violent communication.

Lauri Lohi shapeshifts between being a human, friend, clown, facilitator, drag king, actor, alien, family member, mover, writer, thinker, director and choreographer. Always a lover and a learner.
In their works Lohi explores themes relating to social responsibility, sensuality, transness, queerness, whiteness, shifting identities, mental health and co-existance.
Additionally, Lohi burns for creating more accessible and sustainable working environments and opportunities within the field of performing arts. Holding and facilitating spaces for rest, constructive conflict and conversation are of essence in all of their processes.
